Specialty classes at PBTS School of the Arts provides a great alternative for students unable to make the full year commitment to the School of the Arts Training program. The classes provide an opportunity to learn principle skills in the areas of  Acting, Technical Theater or Musical theater. These 10 week sessions are geared for students in kindergarten and up during the fall and spring. LIMITED SPACES. REGISTER EARLY. 



“SPOTLIGHT”

Geared for kindergarten - 3rd.


Each week a new journey is taken as stories come to life through creative drama, music, and movement activities. Using imaginative play,students will recreate characters, settings, and elements of a story in a fun and nurturing environment. Session ends with a presentation in our Grace Darling Studio Theater.  Meet and Greet required!

“GET IN THE CHARACTER ZONE”

Geared for 4th and UP!


This very popular acting camp is being offered this Fall.  Through improvisation, and storytelling techniques students learn how to develop a character. Each student will create a mask and costume for their “persona” and showcase their work at the end of the 10 weeks. This hands-on-class is highly recommended for both the beginner and returning student.

Love to sing? Razzle-dazzle them with the Magic of Broadway! 

Exciting weekly class that will explore musical theater numbers through vocal warm-ups, acting techniques and choreography. Students are sure to have fun showcasing songs that are hand-picked for your child’s range and experience level! Audition required.

1st through 4th (10 weeks/90 minutes)

A wonderful way to develop the young child’s appreciation for music. Singing in a chorus develops rhythm and movement skills, prepares young brains for learning and helps young children express their emotions.  Come join the fun!  Meet and greet required.

If You Build It, They Will Come

Geared for 5th - 12th


Hands on experience!!! By taking an overview of the elements of theater that help the playwright tell his story, students develop their  behind the scenes interests.

A very popular class, areas covered are light and sound design, set design,

costume making, and the use of make-up and its application.

ADULT ACTING CLASSES

IN the MOMENT

Introductory

Through theater and improvisational games trust and ensemble building are developed.

Students gain self-confidence and build skills with open scene work and 10  Minute plays.  Session culminates with a showcase.

AIR in BETWEEN


  INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED


A safe and intimate environment where actors can hone their acting skills, and “practice” their craft utilizing improvisation, movement and monologue work. Emphasis on playing specific actions, mastering ones emotional instrument and connecting to the material.

A School of the Arts staff member will contact you to confirm availability and set up an interview if necessary.

Important School Policies

Refunds/Cancellation: Deposits for fall registration are refundable if you cancel prior to the first week of class.  Fees for classes cannot be transferred to other sessions. PBTS reserves the right to cancel classes that do not have an enrollment of eight or more students before the first class. Classes, faculty, and schedule are subject to change.
